Bora Chiemruom
Executive Director
Bora Chiemruom is the Executive Director of Angkor Dance Troupe (ADT), where she leads with vision, integrity, and a deep dedication to cultural preservation and community empowerment. Born in Cambodia and resettled in the United States as a child, Bora brings a personal understanding of resilience, belonging, and the transformative power of the arts.
With more than two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, civic engagement, and community building, Bora has guided ADT into a new chapter of growth—strengthening operations, nurturing intergenerational learning, and expanding the Troupe’s local and national visibility. Under her leadership, ADT has deepened its youth development work, launched new creative collaborations, and reaffirmed its role as a cultural anchor for Cambodian Americans.
Prior to ADT, Bora made history as the first Cambodian American woman to lead both the Massachusetts Asian American and Pacific Islanders Commission (AAPIC) and Lowell Telemedia Center. She currently serves as Executive Committee Chair of Mosaic Lowell, helping advance the city’s arts, culture, and creative economy.
For Bora, Angkor Dance Troupe is more than an organization—it is a living legacy of survival, artistry, and community pride. Her work is driven by the belief that Cambodian performing arts must not only be preserved, but reimagined and shared to inspire future generations.
