Youth Program Coordinator

Lok Kru Chad “Curtis” Mai is the Youth Program Coordinator, Dance Instructor, and Principal Dancer at Angkor Dance Troupe. Dance has been a lifelong calling for Curtis, who grew up within the ADT community alongside his sister, Brianna Mai, also a Principal Dancer and Instructor. Their family’s legacy runs deep - his late mother served as ADT’s board president, and all four of his older sisters danced with the troupe.

Curtis began dancing at the age of five, but his passion ignited even earlier, mimicking the graceful movements of older dancers alongside his best friend, Vituu. Today, every performance he gives is a tribute to his mother, whose memory continues to inspire him. For Curtis, dance is not only an art form, but a living expression of love, resilience, and heritage.

As a teacher and mentor, Curtis is deeply committed to guiding young people - not only in mastering technique but in discovering strength, identity, and pride through Cambodian performing arts. Through his leadership, he helps ensure the traditions he grew up with remain vibrant, relevant, and full of heart for generations to come.
